Celebrate the life and death of the most famous English actor of the Regency era this Sunday at 3PM at All Saints Church Haggerston, east London. All of London's best red-nosed entertianers will attend a service in memory of Joseph Grimaldi--the father of modern clowning and the reason clowns are called "Joeys." If this doesn't already sound like the most entertaining church Sunday ever, there's more: the clowns usually perform for the public after the service. And if you can't make it, you can always just dance on the man's grave. There's a memorial in Joseph Grimaldi park--just a short walk from King's Cross station--with two coffin-shapes made up of bronze tiles that play musical notes. One for Charles Dibdin, one for Grimaldi. If you jump around just right, it'll play "Hot Codlins," one of Grimaldi's favorites. See how it's done:
